::The wait, word still not heard of her Master and Mistress had her more tense and worried then ever before. So much to do helping about the Camp where needed yet always to be found in the shadow of Master Kiel or at the edges of the protected domain watchful of any sign of Naz and Hera. Those who packed and left given a farewell but her feet remained firmly planted not about to leave when her Master was out there somewhere. Perhaps hurt, or or worse. restless slumber when she got a chance to sleep never long though keeping loyal and attentive. Always smiling but deep within her gaze was sadness, worry and desperation for hope they would be found soon and returned back to camp::

¥Young men shouted to those in camp.¥Two Houses are ready!!!!Pack your things women and children.

¥Women and children would be the first out of the tents. Ezekiel had ordered this. There were 400 men in their employ total. The defences had been reinforced, that was priority. The markets were finished up, because they needed food, weapons, water, to feel normal. The four more houses would be completed tommorow and the same ammount every day after. The women and men would soon be back together, hopefully making new lives to fill a place they all now called home. Kanda was brought to him, he did not have time to scold the innocent. ¥Bring it to the clinic.¤

:: Things had seemed to have been happening so fast for the Coin Merchant woman. And before she could really start getting settled in and with much deliberation she finally decided to attend the Joining of a former dear friend's son and his merchant companion. Arriving back home the day before, she had risen before dawn as she always did to begin her day. Even without a Bank building she was busy with ledgers and coin. But today she too had gone to her ships. The merchant rounds would be gone through hort by hort throughout the day and the coming days. The children playing close to her, she would also help the women with continuing to arrange the tents and see to the daily running of the camp. She hadn't known what was happening when they had left. Sometimes not getting involved in politics wasn't such a good thing. Years ago when meeting her mate, she had seen that passion he had for the City that had been his Home and that was what had brought her to him at Port Kar.

She had received the chest of the expensive and rare wine along with the chest of gems both from Cyanni and finds a place to keep them both well guarded until the Bank would be finished.
Scrolls and scrolls and ledgers and locked boxes and crates were set in their own place. At the end of the day, the campfire and being together was the best part of all. ::

Now along the ships that Emma had left with were her own. She having part of her family shipping business in Kar spoke to the men that worked for her and Eliza. She explained the plan of it all. She was indeed leaving with Naz and the others. Half the ships would go with her, others would head to Rarir till further notice. With this Eliza would be told of all that happened before leaving Port Kar that night.

Soon the smell of the sea graced the air, the sound of waves hitting the moaning wood of the ship began. They were on their way. Emma spent time making sure to keep a diary of all she seen, felt and would in fact need to remember. Where were the group going? Not a clue in the scribe's mind. She did not ask..Why? She truth Naz with her life really. Ez now that man was another matter. The fear of the spirits of him was held deep.

With each rising of the sun Emma checked the crates holding the scrolls, maps, art works and other things. Other of the ships held supplies of furniture , shop items, food, medical supplies, and more. She was unsure what not to bring, so the warehouses of her businesses looked a bit thin for now.

(Sorry I been sick, I am slow LOL)

Never time to rest by Trinity Mayfield

Never one to shirk work.. she dug in with both hands.. Having some of the guards help her unload her ship.. Thankfully the KM had the wisdom to always have that ship ready to leave at a moments notice.. and as far as food stocks were concern they would have plenty to last until they got the city up and running.. What she needed was just a permanent spot to have her kitchen..

She would not be creative with food just yet.. but make a nice hearty bosk stew.. in a large copper pot.. and found a way to make some bread to go with it.. It was readily available for the men and women that had left with the house.. She also made a batch of cookies.. Yes.. she could cook even in the least prepared spots.. Until they got their city up and running.. she was gonna tell Par to keep her 5 silver a week.. for the new city.. She could do without a few things until then... Maybe when the time was right she would speak to Naz about opening up a cafe.. make some extra coin for the house.. and put some away for Emily.. yes.. she was liking this place.. and really was not missing Kar at all.. While it was her homestone... she had not liked the way of things lately.. and was gonna leave.. but this gave her the opportunity to leave and stay with those she loved..

She gave Emily a quick bath.. a story of the nice pirates and nasty warriors of Cos.. and then tucked her in.. sitting out side her tent.. she took the time to get a thought or two in edgewise.. in the every moving mind of hers

Getting things ready by Cyanni Darkblade

Cyanni had finished inventorying everything and divided what was, in her mind, needed by the fledging settlement ..to the hunters went the crossbows and arrows, she counted 120 furs of varied color and size and gave them over for the comfort of the men and women, the oils she had no use for..in her mind that was a slave thing and promptly given over to Katrina, poor slave..The soaps well she made sure a tub was placed in a private location for at least the women and children to have some extra comfort. Cyanni herself was ocd when it came to keeping clean. The quarter ton of wood was donated for whatever they had a need for. She knew it took a lot for all of them to leave the squalid splendor that was their Home, but sometimes change was necessary.

There was the next generation to consider, it was imperative to keep them safe, and well educated in the ways of old so when the torch was passed to them, they did not make the same mistakes that those they left behind in Kar had made. Cloth on the bolt would be divided between the women. As far as she knew..there wasn't a seamstress in the bunch..they would have to make do with what skill they had when it came to sewing and mending. It took Cyanni awhile before she went from her heavy robes to lighter ones and then finally to a sari..it was only this morning that she had shed the last veil because of the heat. It was then she broke down and cried, muttering as she opened crates, words that would make even the staunch and greedy pirate blush. When she came to the crate marked paga bowls..she had to laugh..it must have been heading for a den somewhere.

She motioned for Judas to help her open it while she motioned for Loki to take the chest of gems to Paris..perhaps they could be used in trade for things they needed. When she turned back around, Judas had the top of the crate pried open...but that wasn't a bowl in his hand..it was kanda..Cyanni had no idea but the men werent hearing any of it..KINGS..was her mother something more then just a simple merchant? What would Cyanni do? Order had to be upheld, The other crates marked paga bowls were opened and the same thing found, kanda..kanda ..

Judas gave her that "Your in deep shit" look..Cyanni just glared, her words falling on deaf ears. "ITS NOT MINE!!!"

List and Things, By Cranni Darkblade

::Cyanni had been busy going through the contents of the hold of her ship..under the watchful eye of course of a couple men that had been employed by her family for vars, ones she could not shake. Coming across the crates of dried fruits, of the salt and spices she directed the thralls she owned to deliver them to Lady Trinity..it would be Cy's contribution and a damn good thing she only gave that, had she been made to cook..they would have burnt offerings.

One of her guards had spotted a lone crate and opened it up, they were educated men and knew what they had. It was a case of the fabled Falarian, Cyanni had it all this time and didn't know what it as. The men would nod between themselves, their plan was to pass it off as something less and give it over to Nazarus and Ezekiel, damn suckups. Cyanni was clueless to many things. As the contents of her hold came from her mothers warehouse, all she had time for was to grab and load. At any rate Loki and Judas covered the crate of fabled wine with a tarp, later to find a way to sneek it out. The rest of the contents of the ship were taken to camp where she could go through and inventory in the light of day rather then lamp light.Delivered to Trinity's corner of the camp were the following::

dried fruit of varied kind
3 crates paga and 3 crates kalana,
small crates of cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper
small crates of salt
3 kalana tables
34 barrels of meade, Lynette's recipe
3 crates of Bazi tea
5 bags of blackwine beans

Hiths??? By EZ Malice

Ezekiel had shed true tears. Leaving his Home Stone was not something easily done. Days have passed and he ordered this and that until they were all tired. But he worked side by side with the men, blood and sweat was given to their new home.

Later that evening he walked through the shallow beach waters. A deep breath was taken and then he felt one bite then another, blood clouds could be seen and he jumped out, something bit him, yet all he seen were fish. When he dropped to the sand checking his wounds he was lucky he still had feet, these particular fish could rip a man apart limb from limb, perfect defense thought the man that dealt with poisons. One of the men appeared and went to tell him about the crates but ordered a slave to tend his wounds.

¥E: What were you going to say?

M: We found a crate of very expensive wine. In Cyanni's things. What should we do with it?

¥E: Give it to Parisete, when the banks are completed and the vaults are in place, the crate will be put in there so when the young woman is finnaly companioned she will have a very special celebration. And if you think to switch the contents or the bottles, keep in mind we have our own and have tasted the wine.

¤An easy grin appeared on his face. The darkness of his eyes heightened his expression, lifting his hair up to be braided and fall down against his back he stood and limped towards the construction of the houses. Each house like a villa, some were simple cabins, others were more like cottages, they were here, just cleaned, washed down and made ready to be lived in.

Suddenly his head snapped when he heard crashing sounds and yelling then the faint sound of ringing steel, dispite his wound he sprinted that way with others. Snakes slithering around them, he noted their bands and it was only hiths, yet they two were not as docile as many believed them to be.

Hiths!! ¥Ezekiel shouted.

Scouting Trip by Hera Julii

Night had fallen again, and the women and men has come to the central fire once more. In one corner of the great bon fire, stories were being told. On the opposite side, a slave was dancing for a small group of young men. Ladies were mending clothes in another cluster, and Hera, she sat on an over turned crate, attempting to write by the light of the fire in her journal.

That was when the sound of chaos came. Men whooped, yelled, called and whistled. A sound only described as jubilation and victory. All eyes suddenly turned to the tree line. The remaining men on shore stood, grabbing their weapons, women and slaves leapt to their feet.

"It is John and Jeric and their scout party," a voice called out in the dark. There was a collective feeling of relief that swept through the camp. Slaves ran to their returning masters. Those that came into the circle of fire light wore large smiles, sweeping up their women and children. Hera just watched, until she was approached by Jeric, "Where is Nazarus?"

"He sleeps. Shall I wake him?" Hera set down her book, straightening in the silk of island sari to regard the group's Lieutenant.

"No." He gestured to the meeting tent. Hera took her book with her, and moved away from the celebration that was going on by the fire. Much food and drink would be had tonight. Jeric slipped into the tent, and Hera followed, pushing aside the canvas flap to enter. When it closed, they were left in relative darkness, save the radiance from the outside fires that cast shards of light at angles around them as they faced one another.

"Seven pasangs in, we have found a city. It is empty, but the structures seem sound enough to be repaired. It is a beautiful city. The architecture is superb."

"Where are the people? Who would leave such a city behind?" Hera interrupted him, concern etched her brow.

Jeric paused, then shifted, a slight incline of his head indicated he was hiding something. Hera was good at reading people, she remained silent and staring, waiting for him to spit out what it was he did not want to say, "There are burn pits outside the walls..quite far away from the city itself. We found human remains.." He paused again, "It could be.."

"The plague? We are not far from Bazi." Hera exhaled and moved to one of the crates still piled up in the tent, sitting on it heavily.

"Everything was burned. It's as though someone came through and purified the city, leaving it a skeleton inside." Jeric moved to the canvas flap, pulling it aside slightly to look out at the celebration that was ongoing.

"Yes, but who, and will they return?" Hera looked up at him.

"The city's Home Stone was not to be found. Whoever was here, and whoever loved it, took their stone with them. Perhaps to rebuild elsewhere." Jeric shrugged.

"Do you think it's safe?" Hera inquired quietly.

"All that is left is stone, and wood. We will make our own wells, and start over. I think it is safe yes, and besides Hera, you are only speculating." Jeric grinned, looking back at her.

"Yes, yes..speculating." Hera rolled her eyes, pushing up from the crate, "I will send Nazarus to you in the morning. You can deliver the good news."

A new Beginning....

The sea always has smelled so good, and the wind was a welcomed blessing. To get out of Port Kar was something I said yes to for two three reasons...Adventure..... Because Liza said stay with Naz or else, and because it gave me a new beginning.... So here we go...

(this post is made up of many players... So enjoy)

((from an email post for the war))

==The Thassa had a definite scent of blood ,
a precursor to what was to come as a weathered Karian Ram crept through the heavy fog
that covered the shores of Port Kar as it docked,
the Captain made his way into the City seeking the CoC Scribe
and delivered unto her a package, tied to the top was a single piece of rence==

Tal Marlo,

Please send out,
Thanks,
Rhanyc

Tal Men of Port Kar,

The Sovereign Homestone of Port Kar, as of this writing,
is in a state of War and all Men are needed in this endeavor in one of the following three capacities.

#1:
If you own ships and/or able to command a fleet,
you are needed to sail immediately to Mystic Cove to join the Karian fleet already there.
If you do not own any ships, contact Admiral Vidicus Vask or myself
and we will make sure you are properly equipped.

#2:
We need a dedicated team from the Watch to defend Port Kar proper
and protect our women if it becomes necessary.
Commander Drakon has been put in charge of putting the team together.
Please contact him or myself if you wish this role.

#3:
The third part of our overall military strategy is to maintain a fleet in Port Kar to protect our shores,
a volunteer is needed to command this fleet as well.

I cannot stress the importance that each and every Karian answer this call to serve their Homestone.
Failure to aid the War effort could be considered treason.

Brothers of Kar,
The outcome of the War is in our hands,
the outcome of words lies in the CoC.

Contact any of the 7 Admirals if you have any questions.

Admiral Vidicus Vask
Admiral Marik Dark Blade
Admiral Alcander Carden
Admiral Erik Locke
Admiral Ramus of PK
Admiral Rhanyc Daelen

Be well,

Rhanyc Daelen

~A notice was told to those in the city of Port Kar, it was kept only by mouth, the Thieves of Port Kar had done their part to protect the city, under the command of Spider~

"Traps have been set on canal street, the main canal of the city. Anything larger than a standard fishing vessel will have it's rudder snagged, by the network of curlon fiber and ropes hidden in the depths of the canals. These ropes also are barbed with large trebel hooks, enough to fish a giant Grunt out of the waters, meant to snag into the hulls of ships, rendering them immobile. Please keep in mind skiffs and other personal transport ships will not be in danger."

"The Vosk was used to provide us with silt and sand, to form sand bars in our canals. Casks of oil have been kept near major chokepoints of the canals, meant to be drained into the canal and set ablaze to deal with any skirmishers in our city."

"I have seen the rencers standing watch with their longbows. They are five hundred strong, and posted at the watchtowers and the turrets at the mouth of our docks. I have heard rumors that two hundred more of these conscripts will come to aid in the defense of the city."

::regardless, these notices would be sent to a ship, filled with reinforcements, to rendezvous with the forces at the front line, the mark of thieves would be placed on the parchment, and a little emblem of a Spider::

"The enemy might as well fight the shadows themselves, for we are just as tangible."

Early in the Morning the messengers were busy running through the City to deliver a scroll to the Ladies of Port Kar. Urgency was the pulse of the City, docks were crowded with sailors preparing to set sail while Admirals and Captains went over maps and manifests. Supplies came to the ships in droves to make sure the men of Port Kar would have everything they needed. Throughout the day one could look at the horizon of the Thassa and find their breath taken away by the beauty of sails snapping against the wind as Port Kar prepared to set sail. Majestic formations slowly pulled from the harbor to the open sea, the passionate cries of "HAIL PORT KAR!!!" heard across the water, spurring the activity on land to a hurried pace to make their way to sea
Ladies of Port Kar

As we all have heard our city is at a crossroads and our men shortly will be following a path that will make a difference in all our lives. Today the men of Port Kar sail to insure our safety and our freedom.
Already all over the city supplies are being gathered to insure our men have what they need to endure the forthcoming trials they will face.
Lady Marlo and myself ask all of you to go through your houses, prepare bandages and gather medical supplies so that we can send our men off from the docks of Port Kar with every possible advantage.
We are all a part of this, there is not a person in this city that will not be affected and it is our duty to insure our men have every advantage. The women of Port Kar can and indeed will set an example for the women of Gor. We will tell our enemies that we will stand by our men, that we will insure they have what is needed to give them victory.

Chimene Ryes & Marlo Kerr
Oh how we have made bandages and filled botas and bottles of sterile water as my sister Eliza had shown me before. The house is sometimes filled with tears or songs. We sing to keep busy when we are not trying to keep at work with our regular lives. I cant seem to paint right now. I have no desire to. I am so sad inside.
I hate war. I hate it sooooooo much. When will it all be over?
Emma

Tal Citizens!

War has been declared on Cos. Port Kar is now on Lock Down for your own safety. Please do not venture out beyond City walls as the men of the City will be concentrating on the declarations at hand.

This is an official order from the Council of Captains.

HAIL PORT KAR!

Marlo Kerr

It will be forever now since I will hear from my sisters Eliza and Alaura. I am afraid for our city yet I know we can beat Cos. I pray to the sky every night as my mother would that our men will come home soon. Men as in those who live here. I have no man..which is fine with me but I do have good friends in Ez, Naz, and others. My brothers are here I need them to live.... I need them to come home...

I read this today and it saddened me to think how the men may go to war and never reach home again. My task was to ready the businesses and help in the house prepare for the returning wounded. I pray they come home to us in victory.
